Default Battery Recommendation

I have a battery that just **** itself, so I wanted to see if anyone had a recommendation for a 96 GSR. I think the measurements are 9x5. I was looking into an optima, but i dont think that make anything in that size. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

optimas don't make batteries that will fit in the integra engine bay. check out this month's consumer reports. they did a survery on car batteries. i believe the diehards from sears ranked first... and the exides from kragen came in second... kirkland from costco and duralast from autozone came in last...

yeah i was going to say diehard because i had one in my oldsmobile (old car) before and i had it for the longest time not having to replace it or recharge it. i should have gotten a diehard for the TEG when i had to replace it

so then i guess i would recommend diehard

oh yeah consumer reports tested 2 kinds of diehards... one was (north) 30035 and the other was (south) 30335. the (south) one ranked first... and the (north) one ranked considerably lower... like 4th to last.

yeah, an optima battery is too big for the teg bay. i got an SVR battery, which is much like the optima in terms of how it works. its a dry cell battery with a deep cycle that is intended for cars with audio systems. the only problem was that it was a little bigger than stock, so i had to ditch the battery box and get longer bolts for the battery tie down. other than that, it fits. i guess i can let you know in a few years how well it works, because i just replaced my battery in my 96 GSR last month. hope this helps.
