annoying squeak
ok ...heres a question, i did my brakes on the teg. Front and rear, changed the pads , rotors, pad clips, bled the brakes, lubed everything up .......squeak squeak squeak. Took apart the offending brake assembly, cleaned and lubed the guide bolts, reassembled it all, .....squeak, squeak blasted squeak. What am i missing? What's making that blasted squeaking noise. I hear it at around 5-10 mph , it stops when i apply the brakes or above 10 mph.
First make sure a dust shield isnt making contact with the rotor.
Second make sure the pad is installed correctly, IE the dot on the pad mates with the caliper. If not, the pad will sit crooked and make contact with the rotor as its turning.
Third, make sure you applied permatex to the back of the pad.
Judging by your symptoms, sounds like #2.

Thanks... Im' gonna check out the things you suggested. It seems like it's getting a bit quieter now, but from time to time...... Nothing worse than trying to cruise by and getting attention because of the squeak.....lol
