Default Engine Work: Bore And Polish

I am new to the scene so i need some advice. i have had this 90 integra gs with the 1.8 non vtech engine for the past 10 yrs now. i just replaced the engine about 6 month ago and i want to get some more power out of it. i have a k&n air intake on there and obx headers. i am thinking of having the head polish and bore, is that a good idea? and what kind of gain in horsepower should i expect if any? and how much bore should i ask for? and should i change the piston and rods to gsr or type r when i do this?
thank you very much for your help

A port and polish is never a bad idea IMO. On the b18 non-vtec motor it makes a pretty good increase. If your just looking for a decent power gain go for a street/strip port/polish/3angle valve job. That will do you just fine and you'll see a gain of probably 7-10hp. No need to to change the pistons or rods. Unless you plan on boosting and want to beef up the bottom end. Welcome to HAN by the way.

well if your looking to increase your compression...yes changing the pistons and rods would do that.. but if you were looking to get more power for your money....turbo it...then you would need a lower compression piston, not a higher one
