A port and polish is never a bad idea IMO. On the b18 non-vtec motor it makes a pretty good increase. If your just looking for a decent power gain go for a street/strip port/polish/3angle valve job. That will do you just fine and you'll see a gain of probably 7-10hp. No need to to change the pistons or rods. Unless you plan on boosting and want to beef up the bottom end.
