If the car isn't going to be "fast" anyway, I might as well just put the 18"s and go with the flow.

Dude, no...haven't you learned anything yet? We are not going to say yes to that. Everyone will know your car is slow w/those big ass wheels. You still have the option of making you car "look" fast even though it isn't, just don't ever race anyone, cause then they'll know the truth.

Im not trying to diss you here or anything, but please please dont get 18'' rims...17'' are even pretty gay if you ask me. And trust me i had 17'' on my GSR for like 3 months. Only because i bent my other rim and didnt feel like putting civic steelies until my rotas came in. I also had 18'' rims on my civic when i got them and sold them the next day. With 18'' you HAVE to run a very thin tire, which means you feel alot more and those rims will bend easier than any other size. I gaurentee the 18'' will rub. My civic had major rubbing issues, and my gsr with 17'' rubbed only in some places, but pretty rare. You can totally feel the loss of power. I was really happy when i finally got my 16'' rotas in and ditched the 17''. The car rolled easier from a stop (less gas to get moving), accelleration felt better, and i could run a little thicker tire. Plus the look was 1000000000x's better. From now on i will never run larger than 16'' rims, on my civic i may even just opt for some nice 15'' rotas.

Thanks for the advice, good to have an opinion from someone who has actually tried this.

Would it be possible to show me a picture of the 16" rims you have on the Integra, to give me an idea of what it will look like?

16's sound so small..

Let me say this, to clarify my situation and new objectives, and maybe your recommendations will change...

From the information provided by everyone here, anything I do that will really boost the power under my hood would be damaging to the engine and the few things I can do to it would barely make a difference, which leaves me thinking it would be a waste of money to worry about it.

With that said, I have come to the realization that my car is going to have to be for looks only, because my model just isn't going to cut it without dumping more money into the car than its worth.

Situation: I live in a relatively poor place, and 90% of my community is African-American. Every last one of my friends either has, or wants an Impala, Cutlass, etc - I'm sure that makes it obvious that no one accepts anything less than 22" rims and many are on 26's. One of my main goals for the car is to tuck the biggest rims possible, whether everyone agrees or not. I can understand droping the 18's if it is going to cause problems with the fenders, but I do need to know as an unbiased opinion if the 17's will fit comfortably? I'm not worried about a smooth ride, but more of a flashy exterior.

Please give me an unbiased recommendation on the largest rims possibly for my car, ignoring any negative riding conditions.

16's sound very small, as I said, so if a picture of an Integra, preferably a 1999 4-door, with 16's, and another with 17's. This will give me a better idea and possibly lead me to 16's if it looks decent.

Thanks to everyone for the help, highly appreciated.

Regards,
Yuneek

P.S. I'm sure he was lying, but the guy at the local muffler place said that an exhaust for my car would add about 10HP -- lie?

if i were you io would spend th 1000 on some gsr rims the blades or fat fives there 15s but look damn good on the cars and then i would swap out the tranny you will definetly feel the differenc there and whatever you do dont try to race and manually shift it you will f**k the tranny up then but right now if you jus add the colod air exhaust and headers it wont do u that much in an automatic trust me my wifes car has all that u can feel the diffrence but not that much if u were to have 5speed

Ok i have a 5 speed 2dr 1996 integra ls special it's on 16's and i have it droped 2' lower than the stock hight. Before i put my sway bars on the car when i took a turn at 20+ the would rub. Some of my friends told me to remove the plastic so i wouldn't rub. Instead i bought the sway bars i didn't like the idea of something getting knocked up in there.
