Default 93 integra clicking/knocking when turning

So it's been getting worse. my Haynes book suggests that it's like the Tri-Port on the CV Joint ... or something. Basically just replace the whole axel and assembly and it would be fine.

I don't have a lot of time to take it to my mechanic, he's good but our schedules aren't the greatest.

1st, could it be something with the CV joint making that noise?

2nd, where can I buy axels from? (online and besides the dealer)

most likely its the axle, try your local autoparts store, napa, advance auto, autozone, pepboys etc..

Napa will be 100 per side for new 1/2 shaft. You might as well do both as long as you have to drain tranny anyway. The other side will go soon-count on it!!!!

Ok, so it's pretty much narrowed down.

1, will replacing the axle/cv joint replace all the parts that are having the problem? (ie. is there something else rubbing or grinding that will also need to be replaced?)

2, if I can't get this replace right away, ya know being the holiday season, budget is tight and all, how long might it last? (I'd say it started about a month ago)

1, Yes an axle will fix everything. You could just replace the outer joint and not the whole axle, but your not saving much money and it's actually more work.

2, If it's only been clicking for a month, your pretty safe to put it off. I drove with both of mine clicking for almost a year before I got around to it. Just don't plan any road trips. When a CV joint goes completely, it's usually been making a huge racket and they tend to go when the most stress is on them like taking off hard in first gear or tight turns. Since your not going fast in either instance it's not a big deal. Now, if it starts making noise going straight or close to it, get it fixed ASAP.
