cel 4 and 8
I have a gsr swapped in an ef and just swapped in a new tranny into in. i got the tranny in and had to put the distributor back on but it was hard to put back in, but i finally got it in. Now i am geting code 4 (crank angle sensor) and code 8 (tdc sensor). The codes didn't come up right away it was about a half an hour before they did. what could be the problem. the msd distributor worked perfect before i took it out.
Well the TDC sensor is in the distributor, so I'll go out on a limb and say you have a distributor problem.
How is the car running besides having a few check engine lights. If your timing belt has skipped teeth then the ecu could throw a code 4.

the distributor was fine until i took it off then it wouldnt want to go back on. now when the car is cold it runs fine then after a while the cel comes on saying code 4. i can shut the car off, let it cool down, and reset the ecu and it will run fine then the cel will come on again. i haven't got the tdc sensor code again yet. and its a msd distributor that ran fine until i took it out. do you think it could be a wire messed up? and the car runs fine until the cel comes on.
Yes, I think you have a wiring problem in the distributor. For whatever reason the msd unit isn't working correctly with the ECU. Is it really necessary to be using it? I would say no! Do you have a stock unit laying around anywhere? If so put the stock distributor on.
