Default Manual conversion in 95 ls

I have a 95 ls auto and my tranny jerks all the time when i put the car into drive or reverse. The car has 124k miles on it so it's not to surprising that the transmission is a little worn. I thought it was pretty interesting that I talked to Acura about the problem and they told me it was a common problem and they have ben fixing 95 autos for free. He said that they almost made a recall(I don't know if that's true or not)...they refused to fix mine though because of the milage . I've been getting everything for my car done at a local place that does really decent work and I've talked to them about getting a manual conversion for my car. For all the parts + install they want about 2k. Anyone who did a conversion know if this is an ok price. I'm not sure what to do yet...I plan to get vtec head or a turbo for the car so a 5 speed would be nice. Maybe it's worth it to just rebuild the auto tranny. What do you guys think?
