those cheaper ones i first showed and you guys said there not accurate, if i were to go with those would it really be a big deal. improper tuning or just false reading/ hey schmoo what do your autometers look like at night?
I would at LEAST get the Autometer gauges. They will be more accurate than a generic brand.

Mine are currently white to match my cluster lighting. They also come with green or red light condoms, so you have a few options if you don't like just white.

There some night shots of Auto Meter gauges. They have lots of different styls that light up differently.

Those are the Cobalt series Autometer. Those are really nice, but expect to pay a good amount of money for them.

I just searched google for those. They look pretty hot. When I boost I'm hoping to get some of those or the ones GSSR has. I'm hoping I can fit a GSR cluster into the car so I don't have to get a new small tach and I can go with a benzel like Schmoo.

also, is it a lot harder to install the mech. then the elec. gauges. i see that the electronic ones are like double. d rather not pay more(who does) but if i must i will. what do you guys think? BTW whats the deal with the difference between the gauges that say BOOST and then i see one that says BOOST/VAC. do i need both? kinda confused here

The C2 series is also a nice, but expensive alternative to the Defi gauges.

The mechanical are always going to be more accurate, but you have to run lines directly to the back of the gauge. 220 degree oil flowing right into the passenger compartment isn't a comforting thought since I had mine leaking all the time, so I have gone with an electrical oil temp over the mechanical oil pressure.

The gauges that say boost only measure when you are boosting. Most of your "around town" driving will take place in the vacuum part of the gauge, so it is handy to have one that shows you both instead. GSSR's boost gauge show both vacuum and boost as well as my boost gauge. You also want to make sure that you get one that reads in the correct unit. Usually, psi is the standard, but they also come in kg/cm and bar.
