i got a refferal from a friend today about a local race shop, and i told them my cars symptons and they basically said that i probably did more damage than just the head gasket and it would be better just replacing the motor, as it would probably cost up to $2000 for them to fix the motor yet they havent even looked at the motor yet.
They qouted me for $1700 for a replacement motor(no tranny) from japan with 30-40,000 miles plus install from so i was wondering whether it is a good deal...

:dunno:

last year my rod bearings cracked, and I had to replace the motor. I have a 95 integra LS. I bought a "used" engine from one of those websites for $850, Imported from japan. I installed the motor in my garage in about 15 hours and have not had one problem a year later. Of course my brother is a Honda mechanic....so its up to you whether or not you know what you are doing....never guess, or assume. Swift death will Follow!!

$1700?? For an LS motor?! I hope to God that includes labor. A GSR longblock will run you $2200 shipped with ECU from osakajdmmotors.com and be delivered within 5 days if you live on the Eastern seaboard.
