Default LS Turbo

Im sure there have been many posts on this, but when i searched it, i couldnt find what im REALLY looking for

I have a 96 LS, and heard turbo is a good thing to do to boost the HP, but i was wondering.... ive seen prices from 1000-4000, what opinion do u have on a price range it will cost for just the turbo, and what i will need for it to run smoothly (this excludes transmission, suspension, etc. or whatever)

any help is appreciated

well from what i can tell you turbo kits alone will cost in a range between 1500-4500 depending on who you go with and what stage you want to get. It also depends on how much boost you plan to go with and how much money you ur willing to spend. You'll need the whole turbo kit that comes with the piping,turbo,etc...Some mods you'll have to do will include upgrading you injectors, fuel rail, but again like i said it depends on what stage turbo u wanna get and how much boost you wanna run. Adding boost will include also include doing some internal work to the motor. Neways if u plan on goin turbo good luck and have fun.

This is a good site to help you research in your set-up.

It will going to cost much more than that if you are buying quality parts that are new. You also have to factor in the engine management which could run a few hundred in price to $1500 + tuning in price.

As long as it is tuned correctly, you can run a fair amount of safe boost on your stock motor, so there isn't any need to upgrade internals if you don't plan on much more than 250 whp.

$3000 would be a good amount of money if you piece it all together and look into some of the "free" engine management systems like Crome and Uberdata.

It isn't a good idea. The automatic tranny is Honda's weakest link. It is guaranteed to take a dump on you. Your best bet would either be manual swap or buying a new integra with a manual already in it.

I'd suggest a new teg with manual in it. Theres a few people that have done the swap on this forum but you have to know what you're doing and it'll cost around 1k.
