Is it safe to powder coat calipers?

Default Is it safe to powder coat calipers?

With all those greases and such inside, but brakes do get hot... I dont know, anyone have insights on this?

You have to disassemble them before powdercoating, but they hold up just fine. Painting them is fine and that will hold up much worse than powdercoating, so it is perfectly fine to get them powdercoated.

I suggest you get in touch with Tony, as he will have some good information about powdercoating.

Yes. All the seals will melt under the high heat of the powdercoating, so everything needs to be removed from the caliper.

And another point, why do anything to your stock calipers that draws attention?
If you decide to powdercoat, please use a satin gray or black. :hsd:
