My dad moved my car without the key by using the shiftlock. now i cannot get my car to move out of park without putting a key in the shiftlock slot. i really dont want to pay tons of $$$$ for the dealership to tell me sumthing i can figure out on my own. Does anyone know how to fix this????? do i have to take it to the dealer or is there an easier way?

 

Wait.. if he didn't have the key he would not have been able to use the shiftlock correctly.. He probably just yanked on the shifter and broke something..

Put the key in and move the shifter to P.

Then start your car, depress the brake pedal, and switch gears .
