If you have a bad ring, that is your problem. The smoke is caused by the oil entering the combustion chamber past the rings.

If you replaced the headgasket twice, why didn't you go a little further and do the rings? A hone job will get a minor scratch out, but it may need to be rebored if the scratch is fairly deep.

if he was burning oil, he'd be smoking blue. if you did infact need to change your rings, by God do so, no reason for further expenses in the future.

buring antifreeze is white smoke.

could always be a cracked head too (water jackets leaking antifreeze into the combustion chanber)

B18B comes in an LS teg.

BTW - The Type-R IM and the LS IM are identical & a GSR IM would be pointless.

Go aftermarket for an LS IM.

get a skunk2, they are replica type-r manifolds. theyre cheaper and easier to come by. but tgansert is right, a type-r would fit your ls motor. the gsr has secondary runners for vtec that would be useless/pointless on a ls.

How do you tell the difference between a ITR intake manifold and a B16a manifold? I hear the bolt patterns are the same? Any way to visually tell without removing the manifold?
