My only concern is that you don't get screwed by your smog laws.

In my state, it is absolutely illegal to "backdate" from OBD-2 to OBD-1 on a street-driven car. So check your laws before you commit.

your exactly right. but people in cali have been getting past this for years now. sure it might be illegal, but thats the chance youll have to take...

luckly FL stopped doing emissions, i think the last time i had a car of mine tested was in 99 or so. so i have nothing to worry about.

Very well.. I was also concerned with the other guy who's considering the OBD-1 backdate. h:

Since "turbulentrider" doesn't list a location in his profile, I erred on the side of caution and assumed he lives in an emissions-controlled state.

yes i do live in an emissions-controlled state. i live in the king of it all...CALIFORNIA... whoop whoop... i called the dealer and they told me that they do have the right sensor in stock for $120, so im just gonna swoop it up tomorrow mornin... i would take the chance but if i take it and get caught, there goes bout $200 down the drain so ill just go the easiest way...and while im doin the swap i'll install new underdrive pulley, dizzy, n spark plugs n wires, but uhhh thanx for the suggestion
