Default Aftermarket shift knob question

Hello,

I just installed an aftermarket shift knob and it still spins. It is definately the right adapter because it's the only one that fit onto the shift lever. Any suggestions to keep the shift knob from turning on the shaft? I tried duct taping it before screwing the bottom of the knob onto the shifter but that didnt work. Thanks!

teflon tape or even some come with a plastic adapter that has a slit up the side and is threaded. try finding one at pep boys or auto zone.
