Default HELP!!My check engine light is on!!

i have a 2000 teg LS and had a question about the 02 sensors on the car.when i used my neighbors obd2 scanner it showed that my o2 is bad but with a word saying BAR1 after it.I know theres 2 sensors on the vehicle but my question is which one is the number 1 sensor and which is number 2
manifold first or the catalytic first???help!!

One would assume its the manifold since its the first one on the path to the exhuast pipe. Im not exactly sure though

Sell the car as a total loss and move on.

Actually the first o2 sensor is before your cat and the seconday sensor is in the car and performs your after cat reading while in closed loop operation.

huhhhh????? in the car??

since you got a 2000, hence obd2. you have an o2 sensor on your downpipe, right after the exhaust manifold. you also have another one right after the cat. the seconds ones purpose is to make sure the 1st one is doing its job.

im assuming BAR1 is the first one. but its doesnt matter, buy the sensor, change it out, if the CEL goes away, you got the right one. if not, put the new one in the other spot.
