Default cd changer question

i don't have an integra, but I would really ask you guys for help. I know there is tons of you great techs around here. I have a 96 RL and just got a cd changer for..... 95 LEGEND. the part number is a little different. i hooked it up and it does not work. IS THERE A WAY I CAN MAKE IT WORK? IT LOOKS EXACTLY THE SAME AND HAS THE SAME CONNECTOR.

thank for any help!

Chris

I will only add that when I connect it, my stereo does respond with an ERR01 on the display. The cartridge cannot be ejected.
How could the modify the changer?

I'm guessing the connecting unit is the same but somewhere the pins don't line up correctly.... I remember that the aftermarket Alpine *which is what I've got* on the teg has the same connector to the stock head unit, however, Honda switched two pins around...hence you need to get a converter ....

Do you think that would be it? Think they could actually change some components inside the changer to make it unusable in other Acuras?
I wonder where I could find out how to "convert" the pins. I could just do it with wires, but which one to which one?

actually have you've tried ejecting the cd changer cartridge? did it work initially with the legend? *suspicious*....I had an Error 05 code *for integra though* and it was because the fifth cd was jammed ....

hope that helps
