Default Stick vibrates

I installed a short throw shifter about a year ago. The stick vibrates and makes a loud buzzing noise between 3k and 5k rpm. I think it's because 2 rubber rings would fit on the new stick. Any suggestions on how to stop this annoying sound? Any tips would be appreciated.

What shifter is it? I used to have a B&M and it rattled no matter what I did. I put bushings on it and everything. I sold it and went with the Skunk2 dual bend and never had the problem again.

If you haven't replaced the shift assembly bushings with something more stiff (polyurithane) then do that. Neuspeed and Energy Suspension make these bushings.

Yea, it's a B&M. You just said no matter what you did it wouldn't stop rattling, did you ever try the polyurithane bushings?

Yes, that's what I said: "I put bushings on it and everything."

Two of my friends had the same problem with the B&M. In fact, do a search on 'B&M rattle'; you'll be amazed on what you find.

ok, I wasn't sure if you used the poly bushings. I'm just courious as to why you told me to get the bushings when you said no matter what you did it still rattled.

Cause you might luck out and it will work. Some people's don't rattle, but mine always did. It's cheaper to buy the $10-$15 too, as opposed to $120 for a new shifter.

The bushings are only $10-15 for the shift linkages? Ok, thanks man.

Won't help. It is still going to rattle. I have a B&m shifter with bushings and it rattles like crazy on the freeway. It is driving me nuts that I am thinking of replacing it with something better.

Ok. It works so i guess I can just deal with the sound. I'm starting to get used to it but anyone who rides with me askes about it.
