lighter flywheel losing torque???
Hey guys i have read in some forums that some people think that putting a lighter flywheel in your car will give you less torque, i think is the exact opposite myself but i would just like to hear other peoples input.
Reason i ask is becaue i have a 1990 integra 4 dr, and i will be putting b16a in it, and i want to know if this will help with the whole low toque problem.
Any kind of help would be great thanks.

Yes, you will be losing torque with a lightweight one. But you gain in how quickly the motor will accelerate. You just have to find the trade-off between the two.
A lot of people say you can go too light. They said my 7.5lb flywheel would be too light. Don't believe the nay-sayers, they're mostly people who have never owned a lightweight flywheel. I have, and I didn't lose any torque. It needs a few more revs to engage, but after that it's fast acceleration.

Like we said, it will help you rev (accelerate) faster. It's worth it.

wait a minute, how would a lighter flywheel "lose" torque? it seems to me that it would need a little more rpms off the line to get spinning without stalling but i cant think of why it would feel less torquey. i dont know, i have never driven a lightweight flywheel equipped car. enlighten me por favor
