Metallic Rattling at 3500 rpm
The noise from my engine is quite quiet at all revolutions except for at around 3500. At this time there is a loud metallic vibration which can be heard even if the windows are up. This happens in neutral and all gears. I thought at first it may be the heat shield from the header but it seems to be quite snug. Any ideas on what it may be?
My friend's VW golf does the same thing at 3700 rpm. Could it be something in the valvetrain?
By the way it's a 2000 Integra. Thanks for your help!

Well, there are other heat shields than just the header shield.
Have someone rev the engine, and climb under and start touching stuff with some tool, like a screwdriver or dowel, until you find your sound.
I've heard rattling on heat shields under the shifter, as well as near the muffler.
