That would work too. You could put the new switch in as an interrupt to the clutch switch. It would be very simple.

I'm thinking of putting in a kill switch in my car before I go off to college. But I want it as a push button one, like the rear defroster so I just push it once when I go to start my car, but then once I turn it off it resets itself to off. How would I go about doing this?

the only problem is theieves basically try all the buttons on the dash.... cruise, defroster, emergency lights, the cabin lights if controled by switch, you have to find somewehr that you can really hide it.

I never thought about a kill switch off the fuel pump... pretty good idea and I allready have a great place to hide the switch, the same place I hide my stash lol! not even the cops have found this spot! hahaha!

I know. I wouldn't have it set up to the defroster switch, it was the type of button I was referring to. A push button that stays on until you turn the car off which then resets itself.

nah screw under the boot, that's too much of a pain to get my stash out of! i would share but it's for me to know and others to stay guessing... only my closest friends know where it's at and that's just cuz i'm too lazy to go out to my car sometimes lol!

but under the boot isn't a half bad idea for the kill switch, but then the idiot trying to steal my car could get lucky and bump it or something... my spot has gotten past the cops three times too so i'm confident about a thief not finding it!

Id highly recomond staying away from the fuel pump. If you forget to switch it on, and the fuel pump runs dry too many times, you will kill the fuel pump. (a new one costs about $200)

on the other hand wiring it to the ignition switch, or even the clutch switch is alot better. I hooked mine up to the clutch switch. It does no damage if i try to start the car with the switch on/or off. In my old car i hid the switch inside the hand brake. You have you stick your finger in the gap to toggle the switch on/off. Its very very discreet. and no one would look there.
