Default it it bad to cruise at 4000RPM+ for a long time?

i just started college a week ago and i gotta take a couple highways. im usually going 80-90 at 4000+ rpm for like a good 10-20 mins at a time on my way there with some bursts of vtec (usually only when some stupid kia or some POS like that trys to race me) anyways, is that bad? i have a 95 GSR with 58k miles.

No its not bad.

That's cruising speed.

I wouldnt recommend standing at 6500rpm for like miles and miles, but no, 4-5k isnt bad.

You'd actually waste your time and gas racing a KIA? Dam the only people I ever race are cars I know that will kick my a$$, so I can see how close it was to beating them. 328, 330, V6 eclipse, GSR w/ mods, GTI VR6, A4, A6.....

only thing I could think of is make sure your oil is up to its proper level along with your coolant. I don't have any troubles driving over 5-6k for extended periods of time (1-3 hours)

But isnt it true you waste gas like that? Is it conserving gas when your at a lower rpm?

You would waste gas trying to catch up to a 330, GTI's and A4's with an RS Auto? How cheap is your gas? We're up to about $1.65 94 over here.

And at 4000, you're only at half the fun
