Default I cant get over 120 mph in my gsr!!

Ok, I've gone 140 before in my car. It's a 94 integra gsr with OBDI. I was tuned by Crome with I/H/E. I was thinkin that it may be the tune, but I had gone over 120 following the tuning. One night I was on an open road, decided to top my car out (god knows why) and when i hit 120 (at the very end of 4th gear), my car slowed to about 115. I thought it might be my 4th gear so I worked my way up to 120 in FIFTH. Same thing happened. It felt like a governor except for the fact that my car literally SLOWED itself (as if I'd lightly applied my brakes). It hasn't presented a problem in everyday driving, but it still bothers me, because I intend on breaking 120 mph speeds at the track in the future. Any advice? Thanks guys

It's actually better if you don't go over 120 in your Integra. At that speed you are like 50 times more likely to crash or something.

Don't get me wrong though.... I love speed as much as the next guy, but not in an FF. It's just not safe.

Errrrrrrrr The TOS is like a fart in the wind to these people.

Unless you're coming to us from Germany, you have no reason to be doing 120mph on a public road. Period.

So don't bring that irresponsibility to this board. We will not tolerate it.

This is your one and only warning.

Now, because I'm in a good mood, I'll answer your question.
What you're encountering is aerodynamic drag, which is to be expected, given the powerband of a naturally aspirated motor and the gearing of our cars. If you plan on taking your car out to Bonneville or some other sanctioned high-speed event, you'll need to cut drag & / or bolster your top-end power.

Lastly, a note to the rest of you:
Please use the "!" button to notify us of posts that violate the TOS. Do not flame the author of the offending post.

Thanks for your cooperation and understanding.
