VAFC and stand-alone EMS systems do not mix. Run one or the other - stand-alone EMS's are much more efficient and tunable.

What gauges are you looking to get? Depending on which ones, Autometer makes decent gauges based on the price. If you want GOOD! gauges, get Delfi, Greddy, Blitz, or Apexi.

If you have the real time tuning software. the AEM will allow you to and the Hondata will too if you buy the romulator. Uberdata can as well if you get a realtime hardware/software like Ostrich..

You have good ideas, but I don't know of any tuning software that offers touch-screen interfaces yet. You can watch your logging real-time with all tuning softwares these days, I believe.

it's a lot to read, but if you really want to learn about it, get started.

It explains itself. If you cannot grasp the basic concepts on the site to help you get started, you should probably not be tuning in the first place.

It is an excellent site and all my research for my DIY uberdata tuning was based off of it.

Tuning is a nice skill to have, but there is a lot of theory behind just the basic facts. It isn't so cut and dry and the research based on the internet is only a starting point. Finding what works best for the most safe, efficient power for your setup and car is something you will need to find out on your own by trial and error.
