I'm 29, married, and i've had my Integra for 5 years. My modding attitude has matured but your never too old.

I'm gonna be 28 in a few months, but I know where you're coming from. My next car will be a G35 or something a little more of a mature car. But personally I think you're never too old to mod any car. Its like the 50-60 year olds that drive around in older classic American muscle. Now that some Japanese cars are considered classics, we'll see import cars being modified more often by an older crowd in the future.

Very good point. Just take a look at all the first-gen Celicas, RX-3s and other resto-mod japanese classics. Who knows how the market will react to the DC Integra in 20 years time?

I think the pivotal issue is the evolution of taste.

I started out with cars that were stripped down to the barest necessities, focusing solely on performance. My Mk2 GTi would decimate Hwy 1 between Stinson Beach and Pt Reyes. But OTOH, the majority of the women in my life would barely tolerate the car because it rode so harshly. h:

With the DC4, I've deliberately sought out a more balanced level of tuning.
It can still do a damn good job in the mountains, but it's far less temperamental and harsh.

Hell, I've added sound deadening to my Integra. Seven years ago, I was scraping the floorboards of the GTi, hell bent on shedding every last ounce of civility.

Looking forward, I'll probably move on to a RWD luxury sedan in the next few years, but I doubt I'll stop investing in performance improvements. But the scope of tuning will certainly progress, just as it has with my last 2 cars.

IMO, age is an irrelevant number when it comes to driving or tuning a certain model of car. If it's something you're passionate about and enjoy doing, then go for it.

You only live once.

This is exactly what I mean about the evolution of taste.

I'd expect to see the decals and altezzas on a teenager's car, not one owned by an AARP member. h:

But, who am I to judge...

Its like being too old for video games. It's really just someone elses opinion. I heard a great thought on this. Most of the time, its just you projecting your fears and opinions onto other people.

Hahah true, maybe Civics might not fall into the classic roadster type appeal but Integras probably will. You see here and there, these old school Datsun sportscars that are restored... and some look quite nice. I suppose Integras and Civics are similar in the appeal range, but the Integra can become a classic while I doubt the Civic will... according to history anyway. The old school Japanese cars that people take interested in seem to all be roadsters/sportscars.
