Default Brake Dust?

I've built up a lot of that unattractive stuff, I was just wondering if anyone has a preferred way to remove it w/o scuffing shit up.

Default brake dust

I use a cheese cloth, soaked in acetone....followed up with LOTS and LOTS of rinsing. the acetone seems to eat the brake dust right up, the cheese cloth picks up the dust that isn't eaten up by the acetone, but be careful to switch out the cheese cloth frequently.

Acetone is corrosive for clear coats, so I wouldn't recommend using it. Most degreasers work pretty well. I have used 409 and Windex on them and it gets the dust right off.

You could switch to a ceramic pad that has white brake dust.

Default Ceramic

I have been considering it, but am not too hip on the fact that they need to be hot to work the best....

There is a tradeoff for everything....

I would rather stop quickly and have brake dust than have little brake dust and have a hard time stopping. I also have stock rims and I wash my car every week, so the insane amount of brake dust doesn't bother me.

If you wax your rims it will build up less and come off easier. Theoretically....

Couldn't have said it better myself...Plus, my rotors are the AEM big break slotted & cross drilled variety, so they produce tons o dust..

Yeah, I need to get financially caught up so I can take care of some shit like that...
tomorrow =
new belt,
brake pads all the way around,
oil change,
heat shield removal,
tire pressure & rotation
Possibly new plugs & wires while i'm at it.
