I use a cheese cloth, soaked in acetone....followed up with LOTS and LOTS of rinsing. the acetone seems to eat the brake dust right up, the cheese cloth picks up the dust that isn't eaten up by the acetone, but be careful to switch out the cheese cloth frequently.
