Default How difficult is it to replace the front bumper?

Hello all,

Unfortunately my first post is bad news. I have a 94 Integra and got in a fender bender last night and the right side of my bumper was bent up. The right turn signal is also cracked but is still working. I am considering replacing the bumper cover myself as well as the turn signal but I don't know how difficult this would be, and I also don't know how much money this will save me. I am assuming I'd have to get the bumper cover painted white to match the rest of my car.

So my main questions are:

how much do you think the body shops will charge?
how difficult will this project be?
if i do replace the bumper myself where is the best place to get a new bumper (website URLs will be appreciated)?

Thanks!

replacing the bumper cover itself is not hard at all. on my 91 there where a total of.....
4 bolts i believe i cant remeber its been a while. just have some1 help u hold it while u mount it and it will be fine. body shops have a nice way of screwing ppl over, if u want it painted take it to a shop after it has been mounted. they will likly say "well in order to match the paint we have to paint the hood and fenders too to blend the color" which is kinda true but if u have a normal color and not going for a best of show paint job dont bother. do your self a favor and get a oem bumper it will cost more, but when u think about it if u cant cut the bumper than put fiberglass on it and mold it to make it fit the price of puttin on a cheap body kit or aftermarket bumper is not worth it

Body shops will charge way too much to swap the bumper. What I woulf do, if I were you:

http://www.getcrashparts.com/product...t=&sku=2583332

Go to some obdy shop, give them your paint code and tell them you want the bumper painted in that color. May not be 100% accurate, but it's the cheapest

Use any old manual or how-to on the internet to swap the bumper cover out. In the end, to get a good looking bumper (Though, not likely to be an impossilbe-to-tell replacement) will cost... $350-400 if you do the install yourself?

Hey its not hard at all. I just replaced the front bumper on my 97 LS. I used the 94 shop manual from hondahookup which shows you exactly where all the screws and 10mm bolts are to remove the stock bumper. I found a site that was closing out the 94-97 front bumper and it cost me only $200 for both the top and bottom piece. I just got everything repainted and it looks awesome!!!

I can now take off the bumper and put in on in less than 10 minutes!!

I also did more work to the rear bumper of the car and i will post painted pics of the car tomorrow after i take some.

Yeah it does only take 5 minutes to take it off, but it takes about 10 to take the two pieces apart and when you are putting on a new front bumper you have to take the old one apart for the parts and put the new one together
