integras rule, ive had an 87ls, 89rs, 92gs, 00gsr and i havent killed any of em. my lil wifey is still driving the 92 teg gs with 191k on it! i lowered that one, put in the basics, header, intake, exhaust...i went to iraq for a year so i think the valve seals dried out a lil bit. it puffs a lil blue when i drive it hard. obviously if you lower it, suspension parts go quicker, watch your ball joints, i lost one an it wasnt cheap to fix that mess. you wont regret it, believe me when i say i have beat the living shyt outta all three of the past tegs with the lil b series motors and theyll take the abuse all day every day for years. i dunno bout the b18c1, im bein nicer to this one so far, but i wind it up plenty an i havent had any trouble yet. do it! oh yeah, theyre a helluva lot lighter that the mitsus too...

Thanks for the hospitality! I would just like to know one more thing. How much should i expect to pay for a slightly modded 94/95gsr w/ around 100K on it in good condition. thanks!

i wouldn't buy a teg thats already been modded. buy one from a 30something married couple that keeps all of their recipts and only redlines it a couple of times during the summer. i definately would not buy an integra thats had the possibility of being overdriven by some reckless racerboy, bouncing off the limiter everytime he drives to school. i say start with scratch and make it yours from the ground up.

edit: btw, i payed $6000 for my '96 gsr in excellent shape with all maintainence current, cd player and viper alarm (and a bottle of original acura touch-up paint ), at 99k miles. just go to kbb.com and get some blue book values for what you're looking at or check autotrader.com and get some asking prices.

Welcome to HAN.

kbb.com or edmunds.com will give you a good idea of the market price for a given year of car. If you go with an older year, I strongly recommend limiting yourself to cars that have full documented service histories.

If these motors are serviced regularly, they will run for eternity.

But if a negligent owner doesn't replace the timing belt, very bad things will happen. With VTEC and non VTEC Integras alike, if the timing belt snaps while the motor is running, pistons and valves will collide.

So, be patient in your search and find the right combination of concientious owner and well-maintained vehicle. Good luck.

I wouldn't pay more than 4-5k depending on the location of the car, title situation, and maintenance records.
