Default Weak VTEC

Ok maybe this has been asked 1mill times. But I did do a search and came up with nothing. I just did my LSVTEC 91block(running strong when straight LS) and a type r head. The head was decked, pressure tested, more port and polish, sand blasted. So I know my head is good. I installed everything and started it up. I drove it around for a bit maybe 8mins total. it's all installed in a 95 sedan. Umm it felt weak like it had the power of a y8 at the most. So where I did the job was about 50miles away from home. So I drove home and it felt a bit stronger when I got home. So I let the car rest about 8 hours got in and drove it around a bit more felt a lot like an ls at this point. Know I had a small leak only when I pushed the car so I got that fixed. everything else is running good now. But it just feels weak. And when VTEC kicks in it's like nothing is going on but the extra noise. I am running a GSR ECU. Timing is on point. I am running B16 cams,B16 Intake manifold, stock headers,2¼ piping catback,GSR tranny. I Hope I am making this 100% clear. I will be installing GSR cams this weekend. But for now I know the VTEC should be kicking in a whole lot harder. PLEASE HELP!!!!

The knock sensor may be going tits up. I know that is a common problem when doing an LSVTEC, a bad knock sensor hangs things up.

An LS doesn't have a knock sensor.

Which could be his problem, since he is running a GSR ECU, which looks for a knock sensor.

Did he somehow bypass the knock sensor or go w/an alternative route?

Is he running a P72 GSR ECU? There are certain piggy back programs that will get rid of the code.

No he has a GSR ECU and a custum wireharness. Onlything custum is that he can use an OBD2 injectors and distro.
