gsr engine very slow

Default gsr engine very slow

i have a 95 ls integra with a gsr engine put in but it soo slow. my friend said i have a ls tranny that why it slow. is that true and if so how much does it cost to change the tranny or is there any other way i can make it go faster.

The LS transmission has longer gears the the GSR transmission, so you will definitely find its slower with the LS transmission. As to change it, the big cost would be the transmission itself, the labour shouldn't be too bad since its a direct bolt-in I believe (correct me if i'm wrong).

Yep, the S80 / Y80 (94-01 GSR) transmission is a direct bolt-on.

because the gears are so long you could always consider some forced induction

i would get a b16 tranny since it has shorter gears than the ls. but then again ud have to buy it and have it put in if u dont do it yourself. other than that id go with Diablo3785 and go wit forced induction.

i think shmoo will back me up on this one and say that longer gears doesn't mean its better for forced induction. Back on the subject though, an LS tranny on a gsr will make the gsr slow yes...my friend has the same set up you have and all bolt ons and my car when it was stock still pulled on his car.

If it is too slow, swap in a GSR or ITR tranny and call it a day. The End.
