anything bigger than stock will slow you down. unless of course, the wheel is actually lighter than stock.

i have 17's.

Actually, what really matters how the weight of the wheel is distributed. Don't forget that mass is an object's resistance to linear acceleration and moment of inertia is an object's resistance to rotational acceleration. If the wheel is lighter, overall, but more of the weight is set to the edge of the rim, the rim will be harder to spin/stop spinning.

thanx man. I slapped 98+ oem bodykit side skirts and rear (bumper+skirts) parts to my 96 LS. The front lip is Comptech...basically an ITR wannabe. No more $$$ for mods.... but that's what credit cards are for!

Default huh?

How do 17" wheels slow you down? As long as you adjust your tire sidewall width to compensate for your plus sized wheels, the overall diameter should remain the same as stock...

What am I missing here? RealTimeRacing ITRs run on 17" wheels... They aren't slow.
