best way to drop compression is with new pistons. drop it to 9:1 and boost to your hearts desire. just make sure you have a good tune.

A thicker headgasket is not a good idea. It makes the quench zones of the combustion chamber less effective and creates a larger surface area for detonation to affect and possibly blow out the headgasket. Just get some lower compression pistons and some stronger rods and you will be set for a good amount of boost as long as it is properly tuned.

Just make sure you get it tuned. My tuner runs 9.8:1 pistons and 16psi.
