redline goes to 7k on ls rs and gs and is actually like 6300 rpms. The different between gs-r and type r is gs-r= 170whp type R= 195whp and you can imagine that the type r has better performance parts all around

As others have mentioned, you've most likely come across the Honda Integra SiR-G. Aside from behind right hand drive, it's mechanically equivalent to the US market Acura Integra GSR (Chassis code: DC2)

The engine code is the B18C1. While similar to the Integra Type R, the cams are milder, compression is slightly lower, and the head is not hand-ported. Furthermore, the chassis is a bit heavier than the Type R, owing to more sound deadening and additional equipment that was stripped from the Type R.

Expect roughly 170hp and 130 lbft, with a redline of 8100 rpm.
Weight will be somewhere near 2700lbs.

Lastly, welcome to the board.

I have actually seen and driven the car now, the metal tag in front of the engine says 'vtec si' aswell as some japanese writing, rpm goes upto 9000 and enters the red at 8000. so still don't know for sure what it is although it's registered as an SI, i'm guessing it must be an sir like somebody mentioned.

----
DC4 - B18B - 6800 rpm redline
DC2 - B18C1 - 8100 rpm redline
DC2 - B18C5 [Type R] - 8700 rpm redline
----
Official end of story.

That's interesting.
You're posting from the UK, correct?
I'm not entirely sure how the DVLA handles the direct imports from Japan. I guess they just translate directly from the Japanese model designation. If so, the "r - g" may have been truncated.

Read the thread much? :eh:

Given that it's RHD, my money says it's a 93-95 JDM Honda Integra SIR-G.
