Hi all,

Last week my car died while driving home from work. The car died like it was being starved of fuel. After verifying that the plugs were in fact dry, I checked the fuel filter(which was good), assumed it was a faulty fuel pump and replaced it. Because of the dry plugs I never thought to check if the plugs were sparking, which they aren't. So car still isn't starting, it turns over but doesn't catch, and no fuel or spark. I've also checked the ignition fuses which are all ok. Anyone ever experienced this before?

 

Yeah. Distributor or Cap? Igniter or Coil?

Shouldn't the plugs still be getting fuel?

 

Is your fuel line fully pressuring up?

 

do what "schwa" suggested, change cap rotor plugs and wires.

 

Fuel pump relay? Can you hear the fuel pump turn on and the fuel rail pressurize when you turn the key to the "on" position?

 

Cap, rotor, cables, and coil check out. Have yet to check the Igniter. I was checking the cables going into the coil and they get very little power when turning the engine over. That a problem?

These forums are a life-saver, my book didn't even mention how to get the rotor off, quick search here did.

 

Then I would definitely check to see if your timing belt jumped a tooth on one of your cams...

 

What about that little computer chip thing in-side the distributor(don't have my book around to check the name).

Guy I ran into at auzozone was saying integra's are notorious for failing distributors, but I don't remember seeing much of that on this board.

Oof, timing belts and I are not friends.

 

Failing ignition coils in distributors, yes... but the dists themselves seem pretty rock solid. But, if those were failing, you would get no spark...
