Bastard thieves. May they all burn in the fires of hell.
As a fellow Integra owner, you have my deepest sympathies.
Their tactics were crude, which leads me to believe it was a random hit. The lack of a visual deterrent [like an alarm LED] probably influenced their decision to target your car.
The only way to mitigate the risk of being a victim is to install multiple layers of security. In addition to the security systems, be concious of where the car is parked. Anything you can do to make the thief's work more difficult and risky will help reduce your chances.
No thief want to be out in the open while commiting a crime.
So if you've got a paging alarm with multiple sirens and multiple battery backups, bolstered by fuel and ignition cuts, you're well covered. Add an AutoLock and you've done pretty much everything possible. If you secure the car to the point where they need a flatbed tow truck to take it, the overwhelming majority of thieves will move on.
Next point:
Exactly what kind of coverage do you have on your car?
If you're only carrying liabilty coverage, then you're probably out of luck.
But if you have the ability to file a claim with your insurer, I'd look into it.
I'd file a report with the police in any event.
:happysad: Hang in there.

i want an alarm that could get the rascal to drop dead or shock him or something.
i would love to install a laptop with a 24 hour wireless connection and constantly uploading a server with 360 degree camera's. and cue a tape to play a really loud pissed off black guy from the ghetto who is threatening to cut them up. now if that doesn't scare off thieves i don't know what will... besides a mounted turret..
oh yes i have been thinking about this one for quite some time now

someone smashed my sisters civic window 2 years ago. When i got my teg i have the best coverage i can get, although its $230 per month!!!! Mine has a alarm also...key in ignition does nothing if alarm is not shut off...but im sure if someone knows what they are doing then no problem. Also since my car sits outside near my shed we are thinking of installing a small camera pointing on the cars with a moniter in my room so i can see at night.

i have a crime-gaurd brand alarm....i must say its pretty awsome. Only nevative is it is REALLLLLLYYYY sensative and really loud. IF you have the hood slightly open and close it it goes off. If you tap the bumper a little hard it goes off. When you close the door you hear 2 beeps...then 1 min later it automatically locks. When it does that and you put the key in the ignition the alarm goes off and the key does nothing at all...it will turn but the car wont even turn on. Only downfall is you best have a spare on you cause if you lock it in the car good luck getting back in.
Also on my car all my windows have numbers etched in them, the guy i got it from said most all my parts are etched so if the car is stolen we can kinda try to trace the parts.
I love my alarm...plus the remote works from FAR away. My sisters alarm on her civic only unlocks within 8-10ft. My friends on his chevy wont unlock it across a road....mine i can be pretty far and push it and it unlocks...sometimes i cant even hear the beep of the unlock im that far....easliy about 20-30ft or more
aftermarket systems are the worst thing to have in your car...thieves first look for these things. im sorry though to hear it happened to you, my cousins car got broken into to twice...second time he had an alarm and all they did was pop the hood and take off the battery
lol i pay 400 a month with the liablity only lol i hate myself, anyway just live in your car with a .45 and never sleep
lowjack- u pay 1k for it and no more fee, they install gps transponders in different places of the car and u get a key chain thing so if some1 uses the car without the keychain in the car u get called and police are alerted
boss has it on his elantra....WHY!! its a damn elantra
also i pretty sure they have pressure sensors on windows.. i think
