Default Bolt Ons 98 GSR

Hey fellas, this is a few things I'm thinking about doing. I've had my Gsr going on 2 weeks now. For my bolt ons I'm going Aem Short Ram Intake, I was thinking about either Dc Sports or a Type R header. Now if I go w/ the" R" header how much more performance would this give me in the power band compared to the DC Sports or just get the DC's. Now for exhaust, I really want one that's stainless steel through out like my Thermal Research on my 91 Si that has a nice deep sound. By no means I don't want an exhaust that have that ricey sound. I was thinking about an Apex & also want to spend no more than $420. Thanks....

The Type R JDM header will give you better gains than a DC header but since the collector is 2.5", it will not bolt up to the cat without some modifications.

and the 4-1 header sits a lot lower than the 4-2-1 so if your car is lowered a lot it might not be good...also the apexi ws is an awesome exhaust but the bpipe isn't stainless steel just the muffler is. the only downside to the WS is its chambered. other than that it sounds awesome

Thanks, I'll problably go w/ DC 4-2-1. Now when you mean chambered what are you talking about? Also where is the ECU located & isn't 98 Gsr's OD2? The exhaust will problably be the WS. So does it has a nice deep sound. It won't be loud when cruising will it, or only when I get into it. That's how my Thermal is on my Si.

It is chambered like a stock exhaust to reduce noise output. If you want deep sound, you should go with the Greddy Evo 2. The WS is more of a stealthy, quiet exhaust.

Why 4-2-1. A while ago when I asked for help here deciding on a new header everyone told me 4-1 for my 98 GSR

the prices on these headers are coming down quickly. you can spend under $900 and get a great performing header.
