Default Building up the ls engine

My long term goal is to get my engine up to 300hp+. My short term goals is about 30+ to my engine. I wan't to know of some internal stuff I can do to my engine to increase strength, of the engine and performance. such as cams, piston, I want to get built up to with stand power. I know I can put some header, Exhaust, Turbo, nos. But what can i do internally

Rods, Pistons, Cams, Camgears, Valves, Reatiners, Valve springs, there are many different companies that makes these parts. It all depends on how much you would want to spend

decide if you want to go NA or boost. then build for that. a NA engine requires a different setup than a boosted engine. you're not gonna hit 300hp NA so boost is your only option.

I'm sure you can hit 200 easy w/ FI, but 300 isnt even street-drivable so you might wanna rethink that.

more horsepower with a turbo is great, but you still need to work on other things, like weight reduction, suspension, and anything else to help your acceleration without adding horsepower. you can still have a pretty fast car. if your goal is 300hp, remember traction too. it's hard to keep traction in a FWD car if you have ALOT of power goin to the wheels. cams, cam gears, valves and retainers, bore and stroke, port and polish, lightened flywheel, higher or lower compression pistons (like snoopy said, depends whether you want to go turbo or NA), fuel injectors, and a high flow fuel rail would be a good start. but remember, you can make an engine as powerful as you want, just make sure you have enough sufficient air flowing thru the beast!

Bud, you aren't gunna hit 200 whp NA in a LS engine for anything affordable or that would cost less than a 500whp turbo set up. The LS engine has a really bad stroke/bore ratio which means it can't rev very high. Granted you can bore it out and grab some displacement, get cams, higher compression pistons, intake manifold, headers, exhaust, CAI and NO2... and the only thing putting you remotely close to 200 whp NA will be the NOS. But how many times are you gunna juice NO2 through the engine and keep it in top shape???

But the high compression and bolt on goodies you installed on there won't be safely compatible with a turbo set up, and you would have to rework the internals, dump your bolt ons, the NA exhaust system wouldn't breath enough for a turbo set up. See where this is going?? You'd have to start all over again.

The LS isn't a good NA building engine compared to other honda engines. It seems almost like it was meant to boosted. My suggestion is go start piecing together a nice turbo set up. Low compression pistons and beefy rods. Get a high quality, ball bearing turbo, new fuel pump, injectors if you feel the need, piping, intercooler, stand alone fuel management, etc. And tune it well. That car will be fast.... really fast... numbers don't really matter at that point, you'll beat the piss out of almost anything on the street for a similar price as compared to 200whp NA set up.... if that's even possible on an LS.
