Default LS valve cover

is the b18b1 notorious for a leaky valve cover gasket? what about the camshaft seal? any recommendation or fixes for this problem? im going to replace both seals, camshaft seal and valve cover seal, should i apply hondabond or some other type? thanks all.

Golden Eagle makes a nice billet cam seal that won't leak at all. If you just get a new valve cover gasket and use honda bond (or equivalent) around the sharp edges, it shouldn't leak at all. You might also want to think about replacing the seals at the sprocket end of the cams and distributor.

Cam seal is notorious for leaking. I used some hondabond on mine and put a new OEM one back in. Hondabond is a must on the sharp corners of the valve cover gasket where it goes over the cam caps.
