I'd like to find a pot of gold. Our chances of success are about the same.

10's is going to be tough...especially in the DA chasis.
Go turbo if you want to stay non-vtec.

i maxed out my 1.8L non-vtec at 180whp (all-motor)

VTEC or no... the only way you're getting anywhere close to the ten-second 1/4 mile is with a very high-boost turbocharger system.

Assuming the car weighs about 2600lbs, you'll need somewhere in the neighborhood of 475-550 wheel horsepower. Trying to do this on pump gas will cost an absurd amount of money. And the end result will be an absolute bitch to drive on the street.

10's are unrealistic unless you've got mad skills and a huge fab shop.
Continue to read. ALOT.
While your reading squirrel away about $2G.
Revise your plan to realistic high 14's.

I'm not trying to discourage you, I have a 92 teggy as well. I'd love to have a 10 sec 2nd gen. But our cars just don't have that kind of potential without a TON of work and money.

An itr is a very good motor, but to reiterate what everyone else is saying, even getting close to 10's is a pretty unrealistic goal without a ton of money and very skilled work

get a tube body, push back the firewall, make engine bay larger, switch to rwd, drop a rebuilt grand national or 5.0motor in and twin turbo and get some slicks and your done. and if u come by the money u need to do this could i have some
