Currently have a LS 97 integra....but planning to throw a gsr head on it....good or bad idea? bcuz i dont want my motor blowing later bcuz you cant hit certain rpms?

thanks for the reply guyz...i did check out the links and i did my own search on ls with gsr heads....all ive been readin about is it will cause problems? im not a big racer guy or know about the mods that well, i just want my 97 ls integra to have a little more power without all the maintenance....my car is automatic anyways, so i wouldnt wanna race it hard....so if i read correctly ...i will have problems later on the road after installing the gsr head on my ls motor? thnx in advance for replies

 

The typical term is LS/VTEC. A search on that will yield a good deal of results.

 

sell the car and get a manual.

you will have problems with an lsvtec if you slap a vtec head on a STOCK bottom end and think you can take it to 8k+. :nono:

 

lol...i jus picked up the car 3 - 4 dayz ago. like i said, im not a big racer guy, but i jus thought it would be good to have extra hp if i can get it in since my frendz can do it for me and i could get a gsr head for free....

 

even if you did the vtec conversion, that auto tranny is gonna kill the fun factor and it wont hold a lot of power.

 

would it save the risk of the rpm problem then? bcuz auto tranny shifts itself, so i wont have the risk of over reving it bcuz of the redline problem from gsr to ls?
