Default just bought a '96 gsr.....

Ok, I haven't actually picked the car up yet, but it is mine. I get it in a week. I've been in the domestic game up until this point, so all I know is the domestics and how they compare to each other. Now, my roomate has an '02 Jetta 1.8t, and of course wants to race me. Question is, how will my '96 2dr GSR stand against his stick-shift 1.8 turbo jetta, which is stock. My Integra is also stock as well. Will I be shamed, or will the GSR hold its own?

should be a drivers race to tell you the truth. Teg GSR's have great top end but the 1.8t's are torquier and have decent top end. GSR's avg. 1/4 mile 15.2-15.5 vs. Jetta 1.8t's are 15.4-15.8 give or take a few.

Thanks for the info guys. I definitely won't be ricing it out. In fact, the main reason I picked this teg out of all I looked at is because it is bone stock, no mods. I really don't have plans to do much modding, if any. I went that route with my previous vehicles and now just want to keep it clean, simple, and reliable.

Looks like a nicely maintained DC2.

Welcome to HAN.

Like others have said, take this race to the track. It ought to be a close one. Launch RPM and tire pressure will be just as critical as cutting a good light.

Don't race its bad for you unless you take it to the track and no that doesn't mean that road 25 miles away where no cops go hahaha but it should be pretty close!!
