Default Resetting the ECU question

When resetting the ECU will pulling the fuse for the ECU work or is disconnecting the negative battery cable the only way?

You can disconnect the ecu, the negative side of the battery, or disconnect both cbles (positive and negative) off the battery, and touch JUST THE CABLES together. (not connected to anything, just the cables).

I always just disconnect the ecu. If your worried about clearing a code that is saved in, just leave it unplugged all night while your sleeping, plug it in in the morning and then start the car and let it idle for a few min. The touching cables thing avoids that though, as lond as they are both dissconected from the battery. You dont want to arc it!

I don't know what year your Integra is but for 98+ all you do is pull the radio 7.5 fuse. Make sure you have the code if you still have the factory radio. With an aftermarket radio I would imagine that you have to program all your stations again when pulling this fuse.

Just pull the negative cable for 5 minutes, start it back up and let it idle for 10 minutes without touching the gas. Turn off the ignition and start it back up.

if you have a 96-above with OBD-II you can take it to autozone or advance and they will clear it for free if your worried about it.

It is a 95 Teg. I've always known that pulling the Neg battery cable would do it. I just thought I had read somwhere that pulling the ECU fuse did it as well....

ok the radio fuse will not do anything, if you are afriad of taking the battery terminals off, remove the main battery fuse in the fusebox, only 2 phillips head screws. then turn the ignition on and off like 10 times. this will discharge any of the capacitors in the electrical system. after that just reinstall the fuse and let the car idle for a bit. its going to need a few cold start cycles and a bit of driving to relearn everything before it will get back to peak performance.
