Default Hood Problems

Hey all... My uncle has a 99 Teg GS and he is having a problem with the hood. When we pop the hood up it's all good, but when we try to close it, it won't close. The only way we can close it tight is when we play with the "hood opener" from inside the car. I have to move the string around while he keeps trying to push the hood down for it to close. If anyone can help, that'd be great, thanks.

look for items such as but not limited to tools, rocks, twigs, finger (lol) preventing the hood to close. also maybe you need to adjust the hook on the hood (could be loose)

In the 1st response. He suggested to make sure the area is clear of tools and what not to include fingers LOL. That has happened to me...
Anyways, the front latch-in where the hook enters can be adjusted up or down by loosening 2 10mm bolts. It may not be making full contact, which would make it hard to click into place, try messing with that and see what happens.

Thanks for the info everyone.... I think its the string or the hook... it won't hook onto the latch
