Not to be a pain and jack this thread, but I think it beats starting a new one. Shmoo the rings you're talking about are just under the headgasket right??? the ones right under the OCO?? My car is sucking a qt and a half per week, and I need to get this taken care of ASAP...although if it's what I think it is, the head removal is a bitch. Did you do the replacement yourself??

I don't know what the OCO is but the rings are wrapped around the piston. Thus, being called piston rings. It requires the complete removal of all pistons/rods as well as honing the cylinder walls.

Removing the head is the easy part. Putting it back on sucks. If you don't find removing the head easy, do even attempt this project. It took myself 12 hours to do the whole thing by myself and I knew exactly what I was doing.
