Default Need help to beat WRX fast!

alright, well i got beef with this kid with a WRX, he has an EVO 2 exhaust and a COBB tuning thing.. he is horrible with his clutch, slips it like no other at the tracks.

he got a 9.4 in the 1/8 mile but hasnt ran the 1/4 yet.

i got my GSR w/ AEM CAI, HKS Hiper Exhaust, MSD Dist. Cap, MSD Spark Plug Wires, Denso Spark Plugs, spoon flywheel, exedy stage 1 clutch.

i ran a 9.8 with intake, exhaust, spark plugs, w/ a slipping OEM clutch.

after i installed my spoon flywheel, exedy clutch, ingition stuff, my car felt a lot faster, but i think i need a little more bolt ons just so i can beat this WRX.

im thinking of a Skunk2 Single Stage Intake Manifold, DC 4-1 Headers, test pipe. what do you guys think i would be running with all of this in my car?

what else could i get for a rather cheap price, pulleys, just let me kno what you guys put on ur car n loved it?

does anyone have an dyno proven DC headers for their cars? or how about skunk2 intake manifold? thanks

Intake manifold and a 4-1 would not be a bad idea, but you have to have something for that turbo. NOS!!!

Turbo. Cheap: no. Loving it: yes. Will beat the shit out of a WRX: yes.

For you, I would get some CTR or Skunk2 cams. One of the best bangs for the buck. And your VTEC will hit hard.

Cams are a piece of cake. Check out www.hybridgarage.com in the how-to section to get an idea. Just mark the timing belt and pull it off with piston 1 at TDC. Put it back on and tension it. Fairly simple. For the first time, make sure you triple check the timing though. Any other tips you need, PM me.

Could always toss a nitrous system in there. Your stock motor would be find with a 75 shot. Just need to retard your timing a little bit & add a little fuel. Your call. I'd personally go the turbo route but under your time condition of a few days & the cost.. it's just not going to happen. You may be able to beat the WRX in the long run.. his only serious advantage is gettin his azz off the line coz of the all wheel drive. well, Good Luck & let us know the out come.. i'm very interested!

Your biggest advatage is that he can't race. Overall his car is faster and it should kick your ass. Maybe with all those parts and no Nos you can hold your own against a WRX. If you can stay with him off the line you have a chance.

Go all N/A it really shows that your car is better, more pride and work put into it rather than a few bolt ons he has. Luv to the WRX though :P

thanks for all the replies, my bad i wasnt thinkin, its not in a few days, but in a few weeks, like a month or so.
yea my only advantage is that he cant drive, which is a given, worse launches ever.

i was really bout to get nitrous but i decided to not do any FI for now. how's this sound?
B18C1
AEM CAI
HKS Hiper Exhaust
MSD Ignition Stuff
JDM 4-1 Header/DC 4-1
Test Pipe
Skunk2 Intake Manifold

or should i just not get the headers and test pipe and try to put in new cams?
