its one screw....when you take the cap off, there is a rotor that you just need to move in a circle till you see the screw, take the screw out, and its off. Not very hard at all

I have done this before, and there is room to get a screwdriver in there, I just did it. You can take off the dist with 4 bolts if that helps, but i was able to get to mine with a small screwdriver

Yes, but it's too much work. You can jack up the front end, remove the driver's side front wheel, and manually turn the crankshaft, but it's easier to just turn the engine over.

But DON'T FORGET TO REMOVE ALL POWER WIRES GOING TO THE DISTRIBUTOR before doing this, or you can easily end up with a burnt coil like me h:

okay thanks for all you help

there was a little plastic cover i had to take off the bottom in order to clear a way to the screw
i got a strong spark on all 4 now but the car still isn't starting
any suggestions for the next step?

my best guess is spark plugs and fuel filter

If the car is in gear, you can spin the motor by rolling the car. Compression may be too high to do this without removing the plugs in a honda, but you can turn a VW bug over by hand
