Default Exhaust Questions

Could someone tell me the parts to and exhaust system from the headers back to the muffler tip? I have a 1994 Acura Integra RS and want to replace from the headers back. I am just not sure what some of the pipes are called? Any help will be greatly appreciated. Also, any suggestions on manufactures that deal in high performance exhausts that are still 50 State legal.

Thanks...

Michael

Michael you have one header right, not headers. It would help if you tell us how much you want to spend. Just look for a good header, catback and high flow converter.

I guess money is always an option. I was hoping not to go above 1000. The cheaper (but good quality) the better.

a greddy header, with a Apexi WS catback exhaust and a carsound high flow cat would be a good set up and you can get all of it for under $1000.00

Greddy header 4-2-1 $284 each: 4-2-1 for ur ls engine, it's also stainless steel, Carb legal and a step down from DC headers that go for $400?

high flow cat: you can get the popular carsound high flow cat, but i wouldn't do it if your just going for performence upgrades, but if your cat needs replacing. then do it, IMHO, your choice on this.

as for ur exhaust: Greddy EVoII, $459. it's a full catback (same website). But that's my opinion, look at this site and choose a exhaust system that u like the sound of.

http://www.team-integra.net/sections...?ArticleID=451

then u need an intake to have a full system, but you said "from the header back."

you can do some searching too, alot of questions like so have been covered.

*edit* intake is about $150-250. so a little over $1,000 for your project.

oops  a good exhaust system would be an RSR ex-mag, those would run you around 450-500. carsound cat is good like teg stated. a good header would be DC sports 4-2-1 or greddy.

Okay, I can find most of the parts that have been mentioned. The only thing that seems hard to find is the headpipe. Is it wise to stay consistant with makers. If I buy the Greddy Headers and catback, shouldn't I get the Greddy headpipe also? And are headpipes just for turbo engines? Sorry, new to this.

You don't have to buy all the parts from the same manufacturer, just pay attention to the exhaust piping diameter. People mix and match parts all the time. Your piping diameter should either increase in size or be one constant size. EX. You don't want to have a header with a 2.5' collector then choke it off by installing a 2' high flow cat. This would be a restriction.

The header and headpipe are sold as one unit, maybe that's why your having trouble finding it. Headers can come in either one or two piece designs though (like the Greddy).

Have you made a solid decision on going with a 4-2-1 or 4-1 header?
