S mode
Anyone used or use the S mode?
If so, in which circumstances?

It allegedly moves the shift point higher for more "aggressive" driving. I wouldn't use it unless you like wasting gas at a minimal advantage.

yeah it just shifts gears at a higher rpm shift point and holds low gears longer
you can do the same by stepping harder on the gas

It's a G2 auto thing.
If you mash the throttle in S3 or S4, the car will hold the gear to redline. Normal "D" mode will shift lower. Back when I had my G2, I always drove in "S" mode.

S-mode = Sport Mode
and it will make it slightly faster because the engine's power peaks around 6200 RPMs. normal auto's will shift before that peak.
